The council must provide active support for residents seeking to protect heritage properties. Too often, residents have been left to fight development on their own, which undermines community efforts to preserve East Melbourne’s heritage.
Conduct a thorough review of traffic flow and pedestrian safety after major events at the MCG. Ensure that roads are adequately managed, and residents are not unduly affected by event traffic.
Replace slippery tactile tiles throughout East Melbourne that have caused numerous slips and falls, prioritising public safety, especially for elderly residents and those with mobility issues.
